Sept 28

SO I had my "protecting god children" workshop last night. It was more interesting then I thought it would be. Some of the videos they showed us were kind of disturbing. I also got fingerprinted....geez, what an ordeal.............they fingerprint each finger like 4 times! But it is a good reason, so I cant complain.I came home hoping to watch my "Grey's Anatomy" that my TIVO was supposed to be recording when i find out it is recording DH's show instead. I was so mad I missed the season premier, but I think they show reruns online now, so I will have to check.
Tomorrow I go down to PA to babysit my nephews, so that will be fun. I hope to get more of my neice's blanket done while I am down there and the boys are asleep....I am way behind on that.

Sept 27

SO I had met with my personal trainer last night. Definitly a free session since it was only 30 min but he did give me some exercises to do for my upper body on the machines which is good. It want enough of a workout for me so I took a class called 20/20/20 which is 20 min of kickboxing, 20 min of step, and 20 min of sculpting. It was a GREAT class, really kept my heart beating and was fun. I was sweating to death, but that is good cause it means more APs.

Sept 26

I went for my walk this mroning and it was a beautiful 70 degrees (was great, but I know it means it will be hot today) but there were leaves all over the ground. Strange but beautiful if I do say so myself. I love the fall and amlooking forward to the cooler weather.

Took pilates last night. It surprises me how much I really LOVE that class. I would take it every day if my gym offered it. Tonight I am taking advantage of the free physical training I get with my gym membership (4 free sessions) so we will see how that goes.

I got a call from my brother this morning and he is in a pinch for a babysitter, so it looks like I will be heading down to PA on Saturday to watch my nephews (not that I would EVER complain about watching them). Ill probably spend the night and come home Sunday morning.

Sept 25

OK, so I am really upset, you guys know how hard I worked last week, I was perfectly on program AND I took an excercise class at the gym EVERYDAY. Well I had WI last night and I am up .6!!!!!!! I am so mad. I am sure it will reflect in next weeks WI, but that didnt stop me from being upset last night. I have to say, I felt great all last week until I stepped on that scale. I hate that little metal box!I wont let it detur me though, I stayed on program last night as I will do all week long. I am taking either a pilates or yolates class tonight.

Sept 24

We had a great weekend. We went apple picking with my neices and nephews and had a great time. We picked some pumpkins too. Now I have about 16 lbs of apples that I need to figure out what to do with (I'll prolly make an apple crisp with bulgur and definitly some applesauce). We went to a diner that hols the record for the world's largest cheeseburger (they have a 150 lb burger on the menu). DH got a 2 lb burger and ate the entire thing, minus the bun. I felt sick just looking at it. I ate grilled chicken on a pita with lettuce and cucumber sauce (I used APs for the pita and sauce).

So my first week at the gym was successful. I took 3 pilates classes, 2 spinning classes, and 1 yoga class. I thought the yoga class was going to be relaxing, but it turned out to be a 'yoga for fitness' class and it was SO HARD! Much harder than the pilates. I will definitly give it a few more chances though. It will take some practice. This week the plan is for 2 yoga, 2 pilates, 2 spinning.

So I calculated my Activity Points for Last week:

Tues: 2 mile walk, 60 min pilates - 4 AP

Wed: 2 mile walk, 45 min spinning - 7 AP

Thurs: 2 mile walk, 60 min pilates - 4 AP

Friday: 2 mile walk, 45 min spinning - 7 AP

Saturday: 60 min pilates - 3 AP

Sunday: 60 min yolates - 3 AP

Monday: 2 mile walk - 1 AP

TOTAL: 29 AP WOO HOO!

Sept 21

So yesterday was day #3 at the gym and I did another Pilates class. I am starting to feel all this working out in my muscles this morning. I didnt want to get out of bed today. But I am very proud of myself for sticking with my plan this week, and am planning to do the same next week (one week at a time). Tonight I do another spinning class.
I threw together a black bean soup last night. It was very good and quite filling however I think i will enjoy it more when it gets colder out. I made much more than I originally was planning for so I froze a lot of it and will eat it over the next couple of weeks.
Tomorrow DH and I go apple picking with my brothers and their kids. I am very excited, it is one of my favorites things to do this time of year!

Sep 20

So last night was day #2 at the gym and I went for it and took a spinning class (they always kind of scared me). Well it was great. What a great cardio workout and it was even kinda fun. Only problem is my bum hurts today from sitting on that seat for an hour.

Sept 19

So I overslept this morning because DH and I got a phonecall at 3AM this morning. It was my inlaws worried because my BIL had not come home yet. Now mind you, the boy is 24 y/o and had just finished his last day at a job before starting his new one next week. It was quite obvious to me that he probably went out drinking, and would be home shortly, but we were woken up. I understand their concern, but if they had simply waited a little while, the call would not have been necessary. Of course, this got my DH all concerned and he was up calling hospitals and such. But needless to say, BIL came home at 4am and was home so late because he drank too much and had to sleep it off in the car for a while (at least he was wise enough to do that). So, I am glad he is home and safe, but I wish my in laws were not such drama queens. (Who stays up to make sure their 24 y/o son comes home anyway.....he is a grown man is he not?)

Anyway........I went to the gym for the first time last night and took a 1 hr Pilates class. It felt great, I had been stressed and tense all daya nd I came out of that class relaxed and energized. It felt really good and I am so glad I decided to do this. I am proud of myself, i am finaly working in the right direction. DH is out of town tonight on business so I will probable head right to the gym after work for a little while before coming home to the dogs. Have lots of housework to do tonight as well.

Sept 18

Well, I felt super rushed this morning getting my breakfast and lunch packed as well as my gym bag (today will be my first day at the gym). So I have decided I need to start preparing things a little better. Prewashing and packing my fruits and veggies into portioned bags, making lunch/breakfast the night before so I can grab it and head out the door. I also think I need to make a trip to Kohls to get some new workout clothes so I am feeling AND LOOKING fabulous at the gym.I was excited yesterdaya bout starting the gym today but I felt so rushed this morning that I started dreading it because I feel like I have so much stuff to do at home. But I am not gonna let anything get in the way, I WILL GO TODAY...even if it is just for 30 min.So I had my first weigh in since the cruise, and I am up 1 lb, but I think i can honestly say that this is the first time I have felt good that it was ONLY 1 lb. With my change in outlook, I am gonna be kicking some butt at this weightloss thing!

I wasnt very good about getting in all my fruits and veggies yesterday....ill get them today.

9/17/07

It was sooooooo cold this morning, I had to put on sweats to walk the dogs. No frost yet, but I think we are gtting close!

I slept in this weekend for the first time in MONTHS and it felt soooooooooo good. I really needed it. The weekend was good, productful. I was so excited because I tries out this new food market a town over from me. It is called Zeytinia and it was CORE HEAVEN. The produce was so beautiful and reasonable priced and it had everything I needed. I thought for sure I'd have to go to my regular supermarket afterwards for things I couldnt find, but there was no need. I am in love with this new place!

I forgot how good I felt when I was on core and I am definitly glad I am back, I just FEEL so much better. And I had no problems staying on track all weekend. And the other good news.....I signed up for a gym membership through my insurance company (great discount) and I am starting tomorrow. I am planning on taking 4 classes a week (pilates and yoga probably) and working on some strength training, I am very excited.

I have to say, I am feeling extra fat today. Pants are not fitting the way I want them too. I think the cruise really did me in more than I was hoping. At least I am back on track, I hate feeling like this. I am going to try and get over to the gym today to get a tour and sign up.

Back to Core

I am following the weight watcher's program, have been for years on and off. I am now going back to their "CORE" plan. This plan is pretty much based on eating foods in their natural form, no processed foods.

Anyway, this is my own personal journal to help me along the way.

Back to Core, day 1:

Got my 2 mile walk in with the dogs this morning and drank 32 oz water.

9:00 Ate 1/2 of my breakfast (oatmeal, ff plain yogurt, and berries) and will wait 'til I am hungry again before I eat the rest.

Drinking 16 oz herbal tea.

11:00 Ate remaining half of my breakfast.

1:00 Iceburg lettuce salad with ham, EVOO, balsamic vinegar. Lowfat string cheese (1pt)

24 oz water

4:00 Bannana

5:30 ff/sf latte

7:30 Indian dahl and spinach over bulgur. 24 oz crystal lite.

9:00 Air popped popcorn

I kept myself from doing any 'extra' evening snacking my crocheting while I watched TV.
